Longchamps is a glamorous apartment building encompasing 6 -stories with its back to the mountainside. It combines Chateauesque and Tudoresque styles and accentuates the climb on Macon Avenue to the Grove Park Inn.

The Kress building was a department store/commercial building. It was built in the classical design with company celebrated Art Deco works " 4 stories.

Considered one of the finest commercial structures in downtown Asheville, the Kress building took on a classical design that encompassed many other Art Deco Kress stores built throughout the country during the 1930's.

View of the southern end of the hotel. The Inn was built in five sections. Native uncut granite boulders from local Sunset Mountian line the walls and chimneys of the Inn. It took only 11 months and 27 days to complete the stone structure.
