This photograph of Cherokee basket weavers (left) Eva Queen Wolfe (1922-2004)) and (right) Emma Squirrel Taylor (1920-2002) was made by photographer Robert Amberg. Most likely the date of this image is 1989, the year that both women presented with a North Carolina Folk Heritage Award by the North Carolina Arts Council. On the far right is Stephen M. Richmond, the southeastern field representative of the Indian Arts and Crafts Board. The photograph was most likely made in Raleigh.
