Description

Big Poplar cut with cross-cut saw by contractor for Babcock Lumber & Land Company of Pittsburgh, Pa., in Big Fodder Stack Cove, on Slick Rock Creek, 1918. The logs were sawed into lumber at Vose, near Maryville, Tennessee. Printed sign at end of log reads, 'Skidded by Joe Loven 5-14-1918. 50414 … 4 cuts contains 20165 feet.' Joe Loven is in the center of the three men at right.
