Description

In this letter of March 11, 1862, G. J. Huntley writes to his sister Tincy Huntley from his location in Hamilton, NC. Although they are fortifying their location, they are waiting for Burnside’s next move, and trying to get their Regiment “In for the War.” He asks her to tell Pap not to enter the war, and asks about the crops. This letter is one of a series of 46 that Huntley wrote home while serving in the 34th Regiment of N. C. Volunteers during the Civil War.
