This black and white snapshot depicts the John C. Campbell Folk School string band practicing behind the Keith House in the late 1920s. The string band organized very early in the establishment of the John C. Campbell Folk School; they played for dances on Friday nights. This photograph was taken by Daisy Dame who was the sister of school founder Olive Dame Campbell.
