This illustrated catalog describes the classes offered at Penland School of Handicrafts, now Penland School of Crafts, during the summer of 1940. Course offerings included weaving, pottery, jewelry making, shoe making, basketry, chair caning, shuckery, and design. The catalog also contains photographs of teachers such as Edward Worst and Aunt Harriet Turnball, student life, crafts and craft production, and buildings such as the Worst Craft House. Descriptions of the school and the surrounding area also are included in the catalog.
