Description

This brochure contains descriptions and photographs of work produced and offered for sale by Daniel Boone during the period his forge was located in the Industrial Department at Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, N.C. Boone was an instructor in wrought iron; works featured in the brochure were produced by Boone or his "mountain students working for an education." Boone learned the blacksmith's trade from his father and grandfather at their forge near Burnsville, N.C. The brochure is undated but the photograph of Boone on the back page appears to be the work of photographer Bayard Wootten and thus was possibly taken in the 1930s.
