This is a transcript of an interview of basket maker Lucy George conducted by Edward Dupuy and Clifford Hotchkiss in 1965. Basket maker Julia Taylor also participated in the interview. George lived on the Qualla Boundary in Cherokee, North Carolina; she produced and sold baskets during the Craft Revival period. In this interview George explains that her mother made baskets, but that George learned from Julia Taylor. George explains the different materials used in her baskets.
