Description

This pottery vase was made by Walter Benjamin Stephen (1875-1961) in 1949. A raised stamp of a potter has the date "1949." At that time Stephen was experimenting with crystalline glazes. This urn has a pale pink interior with tan and green drips at the lip which move into a creamy semi-gloss exterior glaze. Stephen opened the Pisgah Forest Pottery in Arden, N.C. around 1926 and the pottery still operates today.
