Description

The boys in this photograph are salvaging bricks from the burned courthouse in Murphy, N.C. to use for the construction of the chimney in the Community Room of the John C. Campbell Folk School. The Community Room, completed in September 1927, was the first structure built on the campus after the school was founded in 1925. The Community Room was added on to as funds allowed, eventually becoming what is now called the Keith House.
