This photograph, taken around 1945, shows Olive Dame Campbell giving a lecture to a group of John C. Campbell Folk School students outside the school's Farm House. Campbell founded the school in 1925 in Brasstown, N.C. Classes and lectures at the school were of the informal nature, as the school followed non-traditional methods of education.
