Description

This photograph of Evelyn Bishop was taken by Doris Ulmann in the early 1930s. Bishop was the director of the Pi Beta Phi Settlement School in Gatlinburg, Tenn., which eventually became the Arrowmont School of Crafts. Bishop served on a committee of which oversaw Allanstand Cottage Industries in Asheville upon its transfer to the Southern Mountain Handicraft Guild in 1931.
