Description

This watercolor of a mountain forest was done in watercolor by Frances Goodrich, most likely during years she spent in the Allanstand area of North Carolina. Before coming to western North Carolina as a missionary in the early 1890s, Goodrich was trained as an artist at the Yale School of Fine Arts. She did occasional watercolors of people and scenes in the mountains where she lived. This watercolor is on paper and signed by Goodrich in the lower right corner.
