Description
This photograph, taken by Doris Ulmann in 1933 or 1934, depicts Olive Dame Campbell holding up a small hand carved anuimal. Campbell founded the John C. Campbell Folk School in 1925. The carving was most likely created through the school's woodcarving cooperative which later became known as the Brasstown Carvers.
