Description
This photograph was taken by Doris Ulmann in 1933 or 1934, the two years she spent in Brasstown, North Carolina. Wanda Scroggs, daughter of store keeper, Fred O. Scroggs, is looking out of the window of the Log Museum at the John C. Campbell Folk School. The Log Museum was re-constructed at the Folk School in 1926 with the purpose of preserving pioneer craft and way of life. The Scroggs family was one of the most influential factors in locating the Folk School in Brasstown.
