Description

Christine Gilbert carved this duck from buckeye. Gilbert learned to carve as a child from her mother, Verda Anderson, who sold her work through the John C. Campbell Folk School's woodcarving cooperative that became known as the Brasstown Carvers. She took lessons at the Folk School from Murrial Martin and Jack Hall.
