Description
Lucy Nola George (1897-1978) was a basket maker from the Qualla Boundary in Cherokee, North Carolina. She often demonstrated her craft at the Craftsman's Fair of the Southern Highlands. This photograph, taken by Edward L. Dupuy, is from the 1953 Craftsman's Fair of the Southern Highlands in Asheville, North Carolina and shows George making a basket from honeysuckle.
