This fifteen page pamphlet gives a detailed description the first year of the Appalachian School. The school had forty children. Their studies and daily life are explained. Expenses and staff are presented. A last page about the Fireside Industries extols the merits of weaving and gives prices for some of the items made in Penland, North Carolina. Several photographs are included.
