Description
It is not known who made this undated upright storage basket. The large basket is made with white oak splits. Woven upward from a rectangular base, the basket necks in before flaring outward to a round rim. The darker contrasting oak strips appear to be dyed brown with walnut and orange with bloodroot, both traditional native dye plants among Eastern Band Cherokee.
