Description

This photograph is one of two images showing the community picnic that occurred as part of the log raising for the Edward F. Worst Craft House on the campus of the Penland School of Handicrafts (now Penland School of Crafts). The building was named after the school's first weaving instructor, Edward F. Worst. The structure was erected during a community log-raising held in early May 1935. This photograph was taken by Bayard Wootten.
