The young women in this photograph are posing in a professional studio with their baskets and basket-making materials. There is no indication who they are, or who sponsored their photography, though it is likely that the photograph was made or collected by Frances Goodrich either to document products sold through Allanstand Cottage Industries or as an example of work being done in Appalachia. Copies of the original photograph were found with Frances Goodrich's papers.
