Description
This photograph is included in a scrapbook that chronicles Frances Goodrich’s early years in Madison County, North Carolina. This circa 1890s photograph illustrates the use of "homespun" clothing and blankets in mountain communities. The central figure is identified as Mrs. Frank Shelton; the other woman and the children are unidentified. The photographer's name is unknown.
