Description

Portrait of Falls with the book of Walt Whitman’s poetry that he carried with him in his earlier years and would “read to anyone who would listen”; the screenplay of Federico Fellini’s 8½, which for him bridges the space between childhood and adulthood; and a crib photo representing his connection with children. He came to Asheville in 1980 to open a bookstore and to be near Thomas Wolfe’s home, and says the city has nurtured him in every way.
