The photograph and an accompanying article appeared in The Asheville Times on Wednesday, September 29, 1943. The article (at right) is incomplete. Pictured in the photograph are Southern Highland Handicraft Guild officers Louise Pitman of the John C. Campbell Folk School, George Brent, Marion Heard and Winogene Redding, both affiliated with Arrowmont School of Crafts, and Gertrude Flanagan, who worked for the Indian Arts and Crafts Board and, later, Qualla Arts and Crafts Mutual.
