Description

Carved from a wood tree trunk, this full-sized mortar and pestle are used for pounding corn. The corn is put into the hole in the stump and the long stick is held upright. The weight on the end is positioned at the top helping to provide weight to grind corn or other grain into meal. The maker's name is unknown, as is the date of the set.
