Rattle (Musical instrument)
Description
The Cherokee use rattles as part of their dance ceremonies. These rattles are often made from turtle shells and can be mounted singly on a handle or linked together to form multiple leg rattles. The hollowed out turtle shells are filled with small stones or other material that, when shaken, makes noise.
