Description

The Allanstand shop sold its coverlets from orders taken by looking at pattern samples. This old book originally held fabric samples created by FMS Inc. At some point after 1921, Frances Goodrich removed the fabrics the company had glued to the pages and inserted coverlet samples. These samples were attached with brads and usually had an Allanstand tag with the name of the woven piece written on it. The samples were woven from cotton and wool in various colors of yarn, probably homespun. Samples and book pages are soiled from the years of use, especially on the upper right corner.
