Description
This unusual rivercane storage basket was made by Emmaline Garret of the Snowbird Community in Robbinsville, North Carolina. Born and raised in Graham County, Garret recalled watching her grandmother Molly Brown make baskets. This large singleweave basket appears to be a sampler of sorts, with a number of different designs woven into the basket. The designs are made using dyes from black walnut and bloodroot.
