Description

Zebulon Weaver (1872-1948) was a lawyer and U.S. Representative from western North Carolina. He was a member of the North Carolina Park Commission and was involved in the land acquisition process that went towards establishment of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and development of the Blue Ridge Parkway. In this letter from D. R. Bryson to Zebulon Weaver, Bryson expresses support for Weaver’s efforts in Washington at getting the bill for the establishment of the Smoky Mountain National Park passed in the legislature. He also suggests to Weaver that prevention of deforestation and promotion of water conservation can be provided as convincing arguments in favor of the bill’s passage.
