Zebulon Weaver (1872-1948) was a lawyer and U.S. Representative from western North Carolina. He was a member of the North Carolina Park Commission and was involved in the land acquisition process that went towards establishment of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and development of the Blue Ridge Parkway. This set of two letters is the correspondence between Nora McCampbell and Zebulon Weaver regarding McCampbell’s father lands being acquired for a national park. Following are brief summaries of each of these letters: Nora McCampbell Kidd to Zebulon Weaver, August 20, 1931 In this letter, McCampbell tells Weaver real estate in Swain County belonging to her father John McCampbell had been sold to the Government for a national park and her sisters have received a settlement for this. McCampbell asks Weaver to advise her regarding the steps necessary to protect her interests in this context.
