Description

Andrews, North Carolina is a small town situated in a wide and verdant valley just south of the Great Smoky Mountains. With a long history as a Cherokee settlement, by the time of this postcard in the early 20th century, Andrews was a community supported by lumber mills and tanneries. The town was served by the Southern Railway Company, which completed its Murphy Branch in 1894, linking Asheville to Murphy.
