Description

This undated, printed map was collected by Horace Kephart (1862-1931), noted naturalist, woodsman, journalist, and author. After moving to western North Carolina in 1904, Kephart became fascinated by the Appalachian landscape and culture and collected clippings, photographs, and maps of the region throughout his life. This map mostly lands in western North Carolina that would become the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
