The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) was established in 1933 as a public works program during the Great Depression. The men in this photograph are identified as: Geo. Stephens, Will Blevins, Millard Smith, Jennings, Clyde Smith, (Sal) Siler, Victor (Fatso) Denton, House Denton, John Carrel, Ramsey, Rosie Williams, Prentiss Boston, Willard Jenkins, Dempsy Jenkins, and Sam Woodie (cook). This camp is most likely NP-5, located on Kephart Prong near Smokemont, North Carolina.
