Description

This landscape photograph is in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park CCC collection. The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) was established in 1933 as a public works program during the Great Depression. There were 22 camps located in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Company 1459 was originally housed near Townsend, but moved to Gatlinburg in September 1933.
