Maps

Description

This map shows the proposed boundaries of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park with a dotted line indicating a boundary amendment proposed in 1927. While the park idea came about at the turn of the century, it took many years for both states to agree on the boundaries. Of interest is a notation indicating the location of a rock where Cataloochee Turnpike crossed the state line in the upper right of the map.
