Description

Little is known about W. Alan Youngblood, the artist who made this series of drawings. Youngblood was an enrollee at Civilian Conservation Corps Camp NP-8, one of 22 CCC camps in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The pencil on newsprint drawings were all made in 1934 and illustrate the area in and around Greenbrier. A letter from the camp superintendent accompanied the drawings and noted them to be an accurate representation of road and bridge construction around camp. On bottom of sketch "Greenbrier, Little Laurel Bridge Road to Ramsey Branch".
