Description

This photograph of Herbert Trentham on skis was taken by Jack Huff in Gatlinburg. John Carroll from Bryson City is in the background. Carroll is the custodian of Balsam Lodge. Taken in February 1931, picture is in the collection of the Smoky Mountains Hiking Club, an organization that formed after a group of outdoor enthusiasts hiked up to Mount LeConte in October 1924.
