Description
A group of hikers rest on the North Carolina side of Indian Gap about 100 yards from the gap. Indian Gap was the original pass through the Great Smoky Mountains. In the mid-1930s it was replaced by Newfound Gap Road two miles to the east. Newfound Gap Road is also Highway 441.
