Description

This 1946 booklet, “The Great Smoky Mountains National Park: North Carolina [and] Tennessee,” includes 36 illustrated pages with hand-colored photographs. Produced six years after the park was established, the booklet features many of the park’s key sites, including the Skyline, Newfound Gap loop-over, Chimney Tops, Kuwohi (Clingmans Dome 1859-2024), and many waterfalls and natural sites. The booklet includes a map and a few images of Cherokee people who live on the neighboring Qualla Boundary.
