Description
These 6 photographs of a still in Cataloochee, made by Edouard E. Exline (1905-1960), who signed his work, “E.E.E.” Exline often worked with Charles S. Grossman (1900-1972), an architect by trade, who worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps. Grossman spent most of his time on historic preservation projects for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and, in the 1930s, began an inventory of existing structures in the park, cataloguing more than 1,500 buildings.
