Description

Portrait of Barton with a 1942 copy of Leo Tolstoy’s War and Peace, significant, he says, because “we are on the cusp of losing the global fight of sustainability, just as things looked bad for the forces of freedom in March 1942”. He came to Asheville in 2005, drawn to “a friendly, creative town”.
