Description

By 1927, the probable date of this publication, the move to create the Great Smoky Mountains National Park was in full swing. The 10-page booklet, produced by the Champion Fibre Company, promotes its logging operation as well as the conservation of natural resources. The booklet outlines some of the company’s conservation practices, such as forest fire prevention and scientific cutting. In 1926 the company established a tree nursery in Willits, North Carolina for the purpose of reforestation.
