Description

Portrait of Griffin, a self-described “poi dancer” with a set of her “poi”-- Maori for“ball”. “They are swung in intricate patterns around the body. They symbolize the earth, sun, moon, stars, fertility and the cycle of life.” She came to Asheville in 1984 and says the mountains contain a vast part of her soul.
