Description

This 1935 correspondence, concerns the return of the Horace Kepart and George Masa collections to Western Carolina University. Horace Kephart (1862-1931) was a noted naturalist, woodsman, journalist, and author and promoter of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Photographer George Masa (1885-1933) was active in the Carolina Appalachian Trail Club, which merged with the Carolina Mountain Club, and in the movement to establish the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
