Description

This 1929 correspondence, from E. M. Zimmerman to Horace Kephart, proposes that Bryson City be promoted as the “best gateway to the ‘Smokies.’” Horace Kephart (1862-1931) was a noted naturalist, woodsman, journalist, and author and promoter of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Bryson City is located in Swain County, North Carolina.
