The Membership Committee of the Appalachian National Park Association drafted a letter to various Boards of Trade to build membership in the association. Heading the committee was Claybrook James, general manager of the Asheville Hardware Company. Included in this correspondence is This a 2-page list of delegates represented by various Boards of Trade and Chambers of Commerce who will attend a convention held in October 1902, sponsored by the Appalachian National Park Association and the Asheville Board of Trade. The convention was successful with 1,500 people from various states attending.
