Description

In January 1900, the Appalachian National Park Association submitted a Memorial to Congress and, on May 25, 1900, a bill passed authorizing funds to investigate the possibility of a national park in the southern Appalachians. In 1901, Secretary of Agriculture James Wilson submitted his report and several subsequent bills were introduced. This draft amendment is proposed to H.R. 10338.
