This 19-page series of correspondence concerns the destruction of United States forests, one reason for the founding of the Appalachian National Park Association. Two of the letter writers are Chase P. Ambler (1865-1932), a founding member and long-time secretary of the association and Joseph Austin Holmes (1859-1915), North Carolina State Geologist.
