Description

As Chairman of the Membership Committee, Chase Ambler wrote a number of letters to circulate to various constituents. “Circular No. 4” was written to local citizens whose names were suggested by their mayors. Each circular encouraged the promotion of the movement to establish a national park and forest reserve in the southern Appalachians. The letters were penned by Chase P. Ambler (1865-1932), founding member and long-time secretary of the Appalachian National Park Association. One thousand of these circulars were printed for distribution.
