Description

In this letter of October 30, 1928, George Washington Carver writes to Mrs. J.H. (Margaret Gillespie) Slagle recounting the first time he met her son, Thomas (Dick), and the potential for achievement he saw in Dick. He tells how knowing Dick, and the Slagle family through him, has brought him joy, and shares that he is open to having any of the Slagle family visit him in Alabama. Carver closes by thanking Mrs. Slagle for the comfort he has gotten from her Christian spirit and offers his prayers for her and her family.
